Soulo Mute weighs just 2.2 ounces (62 grams) - less than half the weight of some other mutes. Here are a few other mute weights for you to compare.

NO! This is a contributing factor to the mute being so fun to play. It was specifically designed to allow just the right amount of air to pass through, giving it a great sound, but also feeling like you're playing without anything attached to the bell.

Soulo Mute is mainly used as a bucket mute. In addition, it's versatility allows it to be used in a variety of settings from jazz to calssical to commercial music.
For example, in the open position the mute can be used on The Artunian Trumpet concerto. It can also be used in a brass section in a big band during a bucket muted passage.

Sorry, it won't. Soulo mute is designed to fit bells from 4.5" - 5.25". However, if you have a larger bell, we can custom make you one, there is a $25 customization fee. Please click here to contact us directly.
We don't currently make Soulo Mute for flugel. Actually, many who have purchased Soulo Mute comment that the combination (trumpet & Soulo) gives off a flugel-ish sound. We may in the future consider making a flugel version, however there are no immediate plans.
